Project planning schedule
The following authorizations are required before the beginning of the construction of the terminal:
- Authorization to operate the terminal in the port: “classified facility” (for environmental protection purposes).
- Authorization to do transhipment operation offshore.
A first public enquiry was made in May, but was covering only the port terminal and not all the aspects of the lightening of the ships.
Actually many questions raised were on the maritime aspect of the project. In order to allow the public to get all the answers to the questions they may have Cherbourg Terminal Vrac SAS has asked La Manche prefect for a new public enquiry.
